Watch for a lot of E. Texas and most of Louisiana
Posted on 1/2/17 at 7:52 am to rds dc
The main threat this morning appears to be in SW Louisiana and the area to really watch will shift east throughout the day. It looks like the main threat will be along and to the north of I10.
The SPC SREF Significant Tor Index shows a large area above 60 this afternoon.

I'm using my mind witch powers to divert the weather away from Baton Rouge. You're welcome
Don't feel like starting 2017 with nados. That would feel way too much like 2016!

Esp. if wind profiles change, the 12z Lake Charles sounding showed some kinks in the wind profile (veer-back-veer) that could limit the tornado threat. Do you know if any of the local offices are releasing special soundings this afternoon?
