Which network should I connect to on which devices in my home and why?

If your devices have 5GHz compatibility built-in use it, less interference but shorter range compared to 2.4ghz.

Video for TV 5g. If you are just connecting tablets or phones, then use 2.4. 5g is more powerful but shorter range. 2.4 has the larger range.
All of my rokus, amazon boxes, etc are connected to 5g

Even better would be to have one SSID and let the router decide. Do you have that option?

Is that true? I have an Apple Time Capsule and it always seems to auto choose the 2.4 channel. Had to separate them so I could manually chose the 5ghz channel
