"Gif" is another one. I used to be an idiot and think it was pronounced with a hard "g", but now I'm enlightened and understand it is pronounced like the peanut butter.

We've done this thread before. G in GIF stands for graphic, hence why some use the hard "G". The person who invented the format uses the soft "G" pronunciation, so that's the one I use. Everyone I know says the hard "G" though.

wife thinks scoiled is a word. combo of scalded and boiled... you scoil yourself on the hot oil...etc.
