I'm planning to build one soon.

Just me; but, I'd do some research, to keep it legal & build to my own specs.

Held an ar pistol and a high point 9mm. High point was heavier. They aren't too bad for one hand shooting.

I have an AR Pistol in 300 Blackout that I built. If you have the extra cash for a "toy" gun sure I would recommend it. It's fun to shoot, but really what gun isn't!!! Lol

I would not buy it.
1. It's polymer and I just haven't been convinced yet on polymer ARs. Especially since aluminum receiver sets are close to as cheap as they have been in awhile, it doesn't make sense to use polymer.
2. It's a 7.5 inch barrel shooting 5.56. The 5.56/.223 relies heavily on speed to do its thing. If you are not making at least 2500 fps with 5.56 you might as well use a .22LR instead. 5.56 does not reach near 2500 fps through a 7.5 inch barrel. So, if you had any plans of using this as a defensive or hunting "pistol" you need to stick with a ~10.5 inch or longer barrel instead.
3. Pistol length gas 5.56 is a lot harder on the components than the longer gas system alternatives and can make wear and tear more rapid. It also has a tendency to be finicky.

I would, especially at that price. The Omni hybrid is a quality lower receiver. I have it in a full sized AR and it's really light. If Christmas didn't hit my play money Acct so hard I would be all over this deal.

I've got a sig m400 pistol with an 11.5", basically this with a forearm brace instead of a stock:
While it is great fun at the range, it is also a perfect nightstand gun. It fits neatly in a drawer next to my bed and I have every confidence it will be sufficient to drop intruders within the ranges encountered in and around my home. If you have children, leaving a long gun in an unlocked drawer is probably not the best idea, but it works for me.
