Recently got a new sonata with leather sun roof sports package for 19.5 and they financed it for zero percent with 1000 down. It is a great car and the best deal I have ever had. It rides really smooth and has several tech updates the others in it's class do not have yet.
I just obsessed out this same decision you are making for like two months. I decided on the sonata over the accord which was second for me.

Out of these choices, Honda - simply based upon reliability, reputation and resale ability.

Makes a great vehicle, although their demographic has certainly shifted in the recent years.

but I've also liked what i've seen from the Mazda 6, Accords, and Hyundai Sonatas.

I'm in car sales and would recommend the Honda Accord over those other choices. The Honda has reliability and awesome resale value over all other imports, hands down. Id go with an Accord EX for a few luxuries but not all the bells and whistles. You can grab a preowned version for around 22K at the right dealer. Good luck.
