It's always interested me how Russia and the U.S. have long been foes with religious and ethnic commonalities
Massive paranoia from that populace.

All those rich oil tycoons driving their American cars with their dime model girlfriends having a very Merry Christmas. The rest, not so much

I've visited both cities, St Pete is really awesome to see. The Russian cities are always prettier in the snow.

In my public grade school, the teachers told us how the Russians did not allow religion and brainwashed their children. Our teachers were hardcore protestants who hated some Russians.
Then they had all us kids stand and do the pledge of allegiance and sing a patriotic song like My Country 'Tis of Thee. Later, the teacher would lead us in prayer before lunch.
It took me a few years to appreciate the irony.

Do you know the Soviet Union enforced State Atheism?

Did not say to the contrary. The point was that our teachers told us how the Russians banned religion and brainwashed their kids, but then our government teachers led us in religious prayer and patriotic song and pledges. The brainwashing was happening to us too.
