May be a defrost thermostat or defrost heater.
You can usually remove a panel from the interior of the freezer and check if the coil is frozen. If it is, you can thaw it with a hairdryer and plug it back it in. It will buy you time until it freezes up again.
If it's either of those things, it's an easy DIY fix. You'll just need to find the parts.

This. Done this twice, you take the shelves out and the back wall of the freezer screws out. Coils are likely have a heavy ice formation.
