You are making Pascals Wager...not that theres anything wrong with that. The problem is when Pascals Wager is forced on everyone else.

100 years. 500 years. Who knows.
And Pascals Wager is based on ones personal belief not scientific observation. There's plenty of evidence in the history of the earth and elsewhere in the solar system to suggest that CO2 is a greenhouse gas and coincides with warming trends (again, when solar output is factored in).
FWIW, I'm not convinced it's a threat to humanity - that's even further stretch than just saying the oceans will rise 100ft.
But it would change the world significantly. But slowly. So adaptation will be key along with technology.
