Talking to my buddy who is a CPA yesterday, idk where you're located but he was saying that EBR Parish is not accepting property tax payments for 2016 because of the flood, and they will be collected next year. Maybe this could just be a doubling "on paper" situation while your escrow payment remains the same?

I don't really have any more info than that. I know my taxes are usually paid in full from my escrow by mid December and it hasn't been paid yet. Check your mortgage account and see if it's been paid for 2016.
