What is screwed up here in Alabama is this:
Amazon is charging 8% tax(typically sales tax is 9% locally, which is split about 50/50 between city/county and state)
The state will keep all Amazon 8% but will Give Amazon back 2%, provided Amazon submits tax payments on schedule thus Amazon makes 2% profit off customers, that local stores do not make.

A timely filed discount is used in most states for sales tax reporting. You don't file on time? Big penalties and interest.
