If so, I'm stocking up on a year supply of dog food before hand. Does anyone know if this applies to ebay as well?

Depends on your state. They probably got an abatement on a fulfillment center in your state in lieu of sales tax collection.

How fricked will alot of people be if Amazon turns in previous purchases to the state?

I thought it wasn't allowed if they do not have a distribution plant in state. This is going to hurt independent sellers. I'll stick to eBay in that case.

They can't. They had no tax collection agreement with that state. They use that to their advantage. You want us to collect tax, we want an abatement for our fulfillment center for 50 years.

I've been a Prime member for three years and this year they started collecting sales tax from me for certain states where the sale originates.

I got a 40lb bag of dog food for $27. Free shipping and no tax. Won't be so affordable now. I guess I better buy the new tv I was holding off on too before an extra hundred is added to the price.

Damn - I used to buy bigger purchases / purchases I didn't need right away and send it to my folk's house to avoid tax. Damnit, Louisiana - you can't stop screwing me even though I left you years ago.

They already are in Alabama. Some bullshite deal worked out with the AL legislature. fricking greedy bitches can't let me buy my shite from out of state and illegally not pay taxes on it any more. Assholes.

Not sure but go ask our fricktard governor who won't cut state spending but increase taxes.

Elections have consequences. Thanks Republicans for Edwards.

Can I use my mother in laws address in Mississippi to get around this?

Income, property, etc. I'm down. Even sales tax on food. I wouldn't be upset if those went away.
Sales tax for a $900 TV, a car, you know, shite you don't have to have to live, is not theft. Especially if you want, you know, public works.

Then you better stay off the roads so you don't get caught up in receipt of stolen goods.
