I mean all i can think of archer did have some success as a DC at various stops? I know many that have done nothing(coaching wise) after being let go after LSU: hallman, dinardo, stoval, tepper,crowton,etc...Will miles and cameron be added to that list? I mean i'm talking from the 80's to current not sure about earlier.

Stovall has done pretty good for himself, but mostly outside of football:
After his head coaching stint at LSU, Stovall went on to take a job in banking before becoming athletic director at Louisiana Tech University from 1990 to 1993. Afterwards, Stovall became the president and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Sports Foundation, an organization dedicated to securing sporting events for the Baton Rouge area.

I don't remember if he was fired or just a victim of the Stovall firing, but Mack Brown went on to something better.

I believe that Charles McClendon went on to be the head of the national football coaches association, among other football related jobs. Some might say that it is much better than what was happening at LSU then.

And wasn't he fired from that job?

Biff Jones may be as close as you get. Fired by Huey Long, basically at halftime, and went on to coach Oklahoma and Nebraska. Interestingly, the Army assigned him to both the LSU and Oklahoma jobs.
Wikipedia Biff Jones
quote:
At LSU, Jones was head coach for three seasons, and led the team to a Southern Conference Championship in 1932. He resigned after the 1934 season after a heated exchange with noted LSU supporter, Louisiana senator Huey P. Long.[2] In the last game of the season, Long was displeased after the team had lost two straight games and was trailing at halftime to Oregon. Long decided to give a motivational speech to the team at halftime, but was turned away by Jones at the locker room door.[3] The ensuing argument ended with Jones declaring to resign, effective at the end of the game.[2] LSU won the game 14–13. The army then assigned him to serve as head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football team, where he served during 1935 and 1936.[a] This assignment ended when the military transferred him to a new position that had no connection with football.[1]
