OP says this...
Then follows up with this about a kid that hasn't played or practiced a second of college football
Since Perriloux?
Perrilloux was 10x the prospect Brennan is this year.

really can't understand our fan base's obsession with this kid? He's never played a snap in college and yet some of you are trying to anoint him.

And yet, we have Brennan coming in and the kid is highly recruited and by all accounts, has one of the highest ceilings of any recruit that LSU has had come in that i can remember since Periloux. I don't get it. Why the love fest with Scott?

Etling's arm cannot be maximized

Try researching Scott's abilities and numbers versus Brennan's. Most agree that if Scott was 6' 3", he would have been much higher rated. At any rate he was 3 star as was Brennan. You can't have seen his video and numbers and still ask that question.
I have researched him. I watched him play in high school as well. I get the impression that, although talented, he wasn't SEC caliber. I thought, like most, he lacked size which happens to play a big role on the SEC stage. Not every kid shorter than 6' is Drew Brees.
I've also researched Brennan. Brennan is the better prospect coming out of high school. Numbers don't tell the whole story.

If you would've read correctly, I said highest CEILING since Periloux, as in potential. Name one incoming freshman QB, after Periloux, who had more potential than Brennan?
Keep in mind, elite 11 finalist and, as Trent Difler said, at times looked like he best QB on the field. Or did you miss that analysis?

Yea, it's not like we've ever had a Heisman Trophy winner right at 6 foot who played for aTm. So it can't possibly happen again.

Or Russell Wilson, or Fan Tarketon or Joe Theismann, or Michael Vick, or Doug Flutie, or Johnny Football, or Ty Detmer.
"We've learned that Russell is a great football player and a great competitor," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "It doesn't matter what package he goes in. It's not because he's 5-10 that he's a great football player. He's just a great football player. There are some notable players who are likewise, and I think it was Johnny Manziel who said that Russell has opened the door for guys like him. That's true. The last few years, the general thinking was that a guy like Russell couldn't play. That's obviously wrong. but not everybody that's 5 -11 1/2 can be a great football player. All of the elements that make up Russell make him very unique, no matter how tall he is."
You do know Scott won a state championship right? You do know Scoot payed against much better competition than Brennan right? Not to down play Brennan. I am ecstatic he chose to recommit to being a part of the class. But at the same time, Scott nor McMillan are garbage. Both are state championship winning QBs who put up great passing numbers against superior competition. Lets give every QB on the roster a fair chance to prove himself as the best QB for the job. We do not crown QBs by birthright or proclamation.

Throwing out big names who are 6' or under doesn't make Scott any more viable. Those guys are the exception, not the rule. And btw, how many players won a state title that never made it in college? State titles in high school are irrelevant to success in college.

As a QB coach, he would MAXIMIZE all. If your asking who would embrace the tutilidge best, why don't we leave that up to the dude paid 1.8M to figure that out.
I doubt he is looking at TD for input either.
