re: Thoughts on Overwatch

I'll probably get criticized for saying this, but it's a good, fun game, but IMO it wasn't GoT worthy.

The characters, gameplay, maps and Blizzards attention to ongoing changes are all excellent. But I just have never found it all that competitive. In my experience, games like Rocket League have been more gritty and competitive than my games of Overwatch.

One thing which I've heard from people first hand, and they all either like/dislike this characteristic, about the game is that it's a very easy game to play. Literally anyone can play it and doesn't require mastering any crazy controls or anything. It's also very straightforward.

I own the game, but I don't play a lot. Maybe 5-6 matches a month. You don't get anything other than some ranking points for winning a match, there is nothing on the line aside those points so for me, I don't feel you're really penalized for losing. No matter what, you can just queue right back up and play to your heart's desire without any real penalty for playing shitty aside from make believe ranking points, and unless you're a big time streamer/pro is irrelevant.

Like I said though, it is a good game. I just think it gets blown out of proportions sometimes from Blizzard blowhards.
