Lindsey played one year at Kilgore JC. He was recruited by
LSU assistant Red Swanson, who also recruited Y.A. Tittle and Jim Cason for that team. Lindsey also starred for good LSU basketball teams and played for the 1946 SEC champion baseball team which included Joe Bill Adcock, Red Knight, Hoss Gremillion, Mel Didier, Ray Coates ...
Swanson was famous for bringing Jack Torrance to LSU. He was an all-conference tackle, a good basketball player and a world record holder in the shot put. He also signed Al Dark.

If Byrd doesnt catch that TD against Auburn we wouldnt of won the National Title with 3 loses. That alone is enough to put him #1
