All I see is people saying that Chip Kelly was the one calling all the plays and Helfrich didnt do anything blah blah blah...
----------------------------------------------------I haven't seen a single link to support this.
This is self made propaganda from The Rant and others are believing what Tigerdroppings posters say. Sounds like following political "news" shows instead of actually reading the actual platforms of the candidates.
Do your own research folks.
OK... this is some of my research
Can you provide evidence/research that helfrich indeed called all the plays? If you're a helfrich fan cool, but his play calling should cause some concern.

He admits he didn't call many of the plays. He's well known for designing the entire offensive scheme. If you've got four or five pass plays for a certain situation, does it matter that much if one individual is making all of the calls or if its decision-making by committee?
We want to get away from the predictability of the toss-dive followed by the bomb on third and long. Just because one isn't calling all of the plays doesn't discount his offensive creativity. I'd rather have him analyzing the game and feeding the adjustments to those calling the plays. He's a coordinator - very different than a command and controller. His analytical mind should be his greatest asset. Because Kelly wanted to pick and choose the option elected doesn't make Kelly any more important in the process than was Helfrich. Didn't we all kind of figure that out over his past four years in the NFL? Kelly pretty much has sucked.
So without Helfrich by his side, Chip Kelly is a shitty coach. Hmmm. What do believe Orgeron would prefer? Someone that makes him look better or that gives him less than optimal options facing a defense like Alabama? I'd say the former.

So your proof is that Chip Kelly called most of the plays with a heavy influence from Helfrich?
Of course Kelly had the final say he was an Offensive minded HC. But is foolish to think that Helfrich just sat there and did nothing.
