There are both scrap steel and new steel mills here in Mobile County Alabama, relatively new and ready to go. AN/MS Calvert can produce up to 5.3 million tons of rolled carbon steel products in a year. They can also produce a million tons of stainless.

Hopefully this gets Nucor Louisiana back on track. As of now I think the remaining phases are on the back burner.

I think minimill refers to the truncated processes within the mill (such as if the raw material is scrap steel or iron ore pellets)...not necessarily the size of the entire facility.
Braddock is a beast though.
