It's not rapey.
It's a view into the rituals of courtship that defined dating of the time. They both want each other, but society says she should go.
They are both literally exploring reasons for her not to go.

I just read the original lyrics and after the first lines, you're right. I stand corrected. She's being coy and really wants to stay.

It's really not rapey. It's more desperate. He even says "mind if I move in closer". Only other rapey line is "say what's in this drink" but that's really pre-roofie, so it was probably intended as an actual question to the ingredients in the drink.
Other side is a girl that is trying to convince herself she doesn't want to stay. It's not like he's got her chained up.
