Dear Dictionary, could you please define racist and judgmental?

I always thought of these terms as absolutes, the end of the thought. "I will never respect you as a person because I am racist/judgmental."
These terms were never meant to imply fleeting thoughts, questions, or even mild stereotyping. Never meant to be used against a person trying to have an open dialog with an open mind, about real problems.

I hereby reclaim these words. You can no longer use them against me because I embrace these words. Just like deplorable, or ni--ah for some folks.

Next time someone calls me racist or judgmental I will ask them to define that word and explain their reasoning.

I guess it depends on how they are used.

For example, "that was a racist statement and you're being judgemental" is different than "you're a racist and you're judgmental."

In other words, labeling a behavior is not absolute, but it becomes moreso when the person is labeled, as if it's some enduring trait.

A better question is to ask whether or not racism is morally wrong to begin with.

I can understand that and appreciate that.
As long as you don't need a safe space over it.
And I will talk about it.

Asked a black chick once why black people were afraid of cats. I still don't know the reason. She was probably too busy backing away from my black cat.

It is. As an absolute. I've heard people in their 30's who think they are liberal talk about how they are surprised by a person's smooth demeanor, even though they are black.

My head cocked to the side with a quickness.

It's basically used to put someone on the defensive. You can define anything racist these days.

There used to be objective meanings behind it whether behaviors or person. It's all bullshite today.

I'm not racist.
I'm race-curious.
Hey people, brace yourself, I'm asking questions and starting a dialog.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure absolute racism should absolutely never be accepted.

Do you know who coined that word and for what reason?

A racist is a person of a different color. Being judgmental is calling someone of a different color a racist.

The binary (evil or good) may not apply very well. These are tools and don't possess morality.

This applies. This is actually what I mean. I will read the rest of this.

My thoughts are rarely black and white, many shades of grey.

And yet I judge people who think in black and white.

Sorry.
