and yet knowing this, the cops released him in relation to yesterday's incident. W

a prior misdemeanor that was dismissed won't create a murder case where there otherwise isn't enough evidence for one. Don't worry, I'm sure the investigation is still open and the cops know where to find him if he's charged.

The charge of simple battery was ultimately dismissed.

first time he got just a summons for battery. A ticket for battery, no bail, then it was dropped.

Second time he shot someone and wasn't even charged.

Regardless of the self defense angle that Gasser may be claiming, the fact that he had a prior arrest for assaulting someone in a road rage incident should've been a sign to JPSO that they should detain this guy for 48 hours or whatever limit of time the law allows without charges to give as much time as possible for investigators to put the facts together. Even more so considering the scrutiny that such a high profile case would be receiving

Here is even more road rage from Gasser

Another man claimed that he recognized Gasser from their neighborhood and earlier confrontations on the road. “He’s been like this. He’s been road raging,” said Mohammad Mussa.

Mussa said he passed Gasser’s Infiniti sometime shortly before Halloween 2015, but Gasser then sped ahead of him and tried to race him down Behrman Highway. “I got to the red light. He started cursing me out, and I started cursing him,” Mussa said.

Only the presence of a Sheriff’s Office vehicle nearby prevented the situation from getting worse, he said.

Another time, on Terry Parkway, Gasser tried to race him again, Mussa said. “He rolled his window down and he told me 'F*** you' and he rolled off,” Mussa said.

Mussa recalled telling his wife, after that interaction, that the other driver “needs to slow down. They need to take his car away from him.”

Why does he have to be detained for cops to investigate? They can investigate and if there's enough evidence of a crime they can arrest him anytime.

Sounds like ol' baw likes to rip and romp thru Terrytown starting shite with other drivers.

Makes him guilty of being an a-hole. Not a murderer thou.

Because unless it was clearly a self defense case, why would you turn loose the shooter in a homicide investigation? If it turns out that it wasn't self defense and investigators believe it was murder, then what happens if he skips town before he can be arrested? I'm not saying he should've been detained indefinitly, but someone had mentioned that the law allows police to detain someone for up to 48 hours before they have to either be formally charged or released....why wouldn't the police at least use those 48 hours instead of releasing him within just a few hours while there's still so much thats unknown about exactly what happened

It does establish precedent and a predisposition to violence and confrontation in regards to road rage though and fool me once etc

No. It doesn't. It establishes a likelihood of precedent. Or it could establish that someone once made up something about him. Or the newest story could establish that Mohammed Mussa wants his name in the paper.
