a farmer burning a cane field under a transmission line knocked out power to parts of the plant. It caused a very small leak.

I have seen this happen in the past where smoke from a cane field carried enough carbon for the air to be ionized between phases of 230Kv.

I'm pretty sure Dow Plaquemine has its own power plant.

ETA- Looking now, i don't believe they don't. I thought they had a coal fired power plant on site. Maybe i'm thinking of another facility.
