So one of the things I love about sonos is it's modular. I can slowly build my setup and continuously add speakers to my house as money allows. With that being said, does anyone here actually have the 5.1 Sonos setup?

Would getting Play:5's as rear speakers be a waste of money with the bass driver if the Sonos Sub handles all the bass?

if just using as rears in a dolby setup, absolutely. You dont need much for rear sound

I hooked up play 1's vs play 3's as back speakers.

Ended up not being a difference so stuck with the 1's.

The connect amps work great. Actually have one connected to a turntable on the other side of the house. Very easy to use.
