Do Board of Directors grow weary of their CEOs because they know seemingly successful moves were done for their psychological effect?

Probably not as long as it doesn't have a detrimental on the actual fundamentals of the company.

But I doubt they would announce it to the world, and let the market know it's not substantive, like Adams just did.
