Hiring wide receiver coach as head coach.

From 2003-2006 Dabo Sweeney was assistant head coach/ receivers coach for Clemson. Also recruiting coordinator. 2007 he became interim head coach. He fired the offensive coordinator and called his on plays the rest of that year. Was hired as head coach following year. Position coach to head coach. Worked out nice for the tigers.

Was he also fired for going 10-25 overall and 3-21 in conference play in his first head coaching chance?

He most likely would have coach if his fist HC job would have been at ole miss 10 years ago.

How did Coach O calling how own plays go?
Its not that he is a position coach, it is that no one would ever hire him as their DC.
Swinney could get an OC job, and probably has a large say in the offense.

At the time his he had only been a wide receiver coach. He had never been on offensive coordinator prior to becoming a head coach.
