Places to camp within a 15 hour drive from BR

Me and my buddies were planning on camping in the smokeys over winter break. Unfortunately the smokeys are really smoking right now and we're looking for another place within 15 hours driving from BR, preferably somewhere cold.

Rates are cheap in Gatlinburg about now.

You can make it to Santa Fe in a little over 15 hours according to Google. New Mexico would be awesome. Go skiing in Taos.

Palo Duro Canyon

Northern Arkansas. Beaver Lake or Table Rock Lake. Beautiful country up there.

Interesting, I might have to look more into that.

Northern New Mexico is amazing.

I would think there are a lot of cool places around Hot Springs, AR. If you are coming to Texas and don't want to drive all the way to Big Bend or Palo Duro Canyon, consider Enchanted Rock State Park. It is about 1.5 hours west of Austin.
Also, if going out to West Texas the Guadalupe Mountains Natuonal Park is a good alternative to Big Bend.
I also think Toledo Bend is a nice lake with some good camping areas. (A lot closer for you)

Are you just wanting to camp. Or are you wanting to hike/camp?
The Ozarks are awesome. Buffalo National River area is beautiful anytime of year. Hurricane Creek Wilderness area is amazing. Most of that needs to be accessed by backpacks, but you could definitely find somewhere to camp in the Buffalo River and go on plenty of day hikes by drinking 20-30 minutes each day.
I'm a total sucker for Northern New Mexico as well. Beautiful country. I've done Guadalupe National Park over spring break. It's a really neat area, too. Once again, backpacking intense, though.
