no, he got DQ'd for swimming 15% faster than HE did in his previous heat. its pretty dumb but he didnt get DQd for being faster than the other people

Well apparently there is a rule stating you cannot swim 15% faster than the time you swam in your heats. The reason is to prevent people from purposely swimming slower to be placed in a lower division only to wipe away the inferior competition in the final.


Sounds like this kid tanked in the earlier races to get matched up against people he was actually much faster than so that he could win first place.
