Herman's interest in Texas was common knowledge the entire time. Why did Alleva waste so much time with him? Why wasn't an actual search done? Why didn't Alleva make a more serious effort to get Herman? It's due to Alleva's lack a leadership and being a fricking wimpy idiot who was planning for O the whole time. Follow his history back to Duke. He has never changed.

An actual search was done. It was honed down to roughly 8 to 10. From there, it went down to 3, then 2, then 1.

In vetting folks, you not only want a successful coach, but that person has to be a good fit with your program, school, and administration.

6 to 8 folks worked the vetting process with the assistance of a number of others. I think they did the best they could.

Because Texas brass was saying they were keeping Strong as early as Thursday. The administration wanted to keep him if you believe the reports. It was the boosters orchestrating all this and Im sure some complicit parties in the UT admin.

Hell I would have been pushing out Strong, or at least participating in any campaign to secure Herman.
