Lol, with Eli Manning at QB? I hope they won a few.

The 2004 rebels won their 4 games by a combined 30 points.
They sucked baaaadd and the cupboard was absolutely bare when Cutcliffe left. That said, O was terrible as the Ole Miss coach, just not "never ever be a head coach ever again" terrible. The Ole Miss debacle is a convenient scapegoat, but perhaps the alcoholism was the real reason he was never given another shot in spite of his post Oxford successes.

I think he had quit drinking before he coached Ole Miss.

He was literally the worst coach they ever had. Truly. He went 3-21 in the SEC. That's worse than Hallman's first three years. On top of that, he's never been a coordinator and has zero reputation for tactical prowess. There is no mystery. Again, LSU would not have hired him if they could have gotten their first or second choice.

He seems to like the gray area in recruiting and USC was his former dream job.
