Good question but it's entirely possible he hates working with Saban plus he'll get a raise. Kiffin would be a homerun hire IMO. Guy has always been an excellent OC he just sucked as a HC everywhere. Him and O have a lot of history too. I have doubts he's the guy but we'll see.

That said, nobody in here should expect a great offense for at least 2 maybe 3 years. That's how long it will take to develop a QB here unless by some miracle true freshman come in and look absolutely amazing. That's not very common though so not realistic. Miles didn't leave anything in the tank there and Etling is not the answer. Kiffin is also a damn good recruiter so even though he's a piece of shite he's 2/2. Great offensive mind and can recruit. Win Win. You don't have to like him as long as he's developing, recruiting and we're winning.

If Saban wants Kiffin to stay, then Bama won't be outbid by LSU.

Kiffin could make a lateral move, maintain status quo producation (based on Kiffin #s) and his stock increases simply by virtue of doing it outside the Saban administration.

That doesn't mean there's a ton of upside for Kiffin in immediate or short term. But just beyond that, e.g. 1-3 seasons, there's some huge upside. Specifically, Kiffin's perception when disassociated with Saban.
