Not really. O doesn't design or call offensive plays, and typically neither does the head coach. If we have Orgeron, we need a legit offensive coordinator.

Legit point but I think you and many others are missing something in that thinking.

Ill post what I posted on this topic on another thread....

quote:

No one hates Orgeron. I really like the guy. Hes got a great personality and the players LOVE him. Hes an amazing recruiter and a good position coach. He wouldnt have been at USCw if he wasnt. The problem with hiring a guy like Orgeron that is neither an offensive or defensive genius is that you dont lock down one side of the ball. He would have to rely on constantly hiring top notch coordinators and anytime they get good at their job a HC position comes calling and they take off. Its constant attrition in the coaching staff. You cant have sustained success that way. How long does Aranda stay around if Orgeron is HC? Imagine if LSU had a bad-mediocre defense to go with this offense. How many games LSU wins then? The rest of the SEC is laughing at LSU for considering hiring a guy that was a DL coach that no other school was even considering for a coordinating position much less a HC position. Theyre also licking their chops. People in Louisiana are prisoners of the moment and nepotistic, self-gratifying, back-slapping good ole boys. Thats why we always fail and fall behind the rest of the country. Orgeron is the feel good hire. You shouldnt be relying on emotion to make a multi-million dollar decision. Use your logic for once or expect to be emotionally disappointed.

So what it sounds like is get O to coach and be happy if we only lose to Bama every year? frick that I would rather beat them at least 1 out of 3 times.
