Not in the Athletics department which is all that matters for this job. LSU is one of the largest and most profitable Athletic departments in the country - google it if you don't believe me!

As stated prior, LSU's relevance on a national scale didn't juggernaut until Sabsn win the NC. Even when they were considered "good" back in the 80s, they weren't elite. Seemed like every time they did well they'd play Nebraska in the bowl and get shellacked. The fact that we hadn't won it all since 1959 just shows how far behind we are in the "historically speaking" category.
