Finding land to lease for hunting-NWLA

So as my subject suggests, I'm interested in finding land to lease with a few buddies for hunting in NWLA. For most of my life I've relied on friends who own land to go hunting. I'm getting to the age now, though, where I'm tired of relying on someone else and having to get the "ok" every time I want to hunt. I also want the freedom to be able to set up the hunting how I want and be able shoot/not shoot what I want.
I realize I'm probably too late for this season, so now I want to get a jump on finding a place for next season. I live in and go to med school in Shreveport, so somewhere within ~1hr of town would be preferred.
Any suggestions on how to best approach this? I've already emailed a few local land management agents and am waiting for responses. Figured I'd seek guidance from the always wise OB in the meantime.

Roy o Martin and other timber companies would be you'd best bet

Local timber companies and Timberland Investment groups would be the best place to start
Molpus and Weyerhaeuser to start with
I'm not sure what you're looking for, but it's possible that I could find a small tract or two in Bossier or DeSoto Parish.
