Eh, I didn't mind it. I liked her character overall. I was surprised at how powerful Newt was. He was kicked out of Hogwarts, but yet he could apparate very quickly and use non-verbal spells with ease.

I didn't dislike her character, I thought she was great, just her having reached the classification of Auror.

That was a bit of a surprise. The fact that seemingly everyone could apparate with ease was a little strange.
I will say, the absolutely nailed the beasts. They were very unique, gorgeous to look at, and some great comic relief.

It wasn't just him though. Almost everyone uses spells non verbally.
Honestly I took it as they were more badass back then than they are in present day. Kind of like how the average high school kid was much tougher than kids are these days.

This is interests me a lot. How does he still have a wand?
Hagrid was expelled and had his wand snapped, granted it was repaired and put into his umbrella. Harry gets threatened with having his wand snapped after being expelled for underage magic. Maybe things were different two to three decades before Hagrid got to school? Or maybe Newt was passed his O.W.L.s so he could keep his wand?
