Very respected man. I almost don't want him to take a cabinet position because I would hate to lose him has an Alabama Senator. I like him a hell of a lot more than Shelby. I'm just praying that we can find someone with half his integrity to fill his Senate spot.

He is viewed as a Boy Scout, George Washington's "I cannot tell a lie" comes to mind...

Straight arrow, unimpeachable, unassailable character. Old school Christian from rural Alabama. Hybart I think down in North Monroe or Southern Wilcox County.. Best Deer hunting in the State.

Today most people would call him a fuddy duddy or a codger...He is your "grandfather's oldsmobile", to take liberties with the 70s TV commercial.
