No doubt a much better resume

Yes, IMO.
Ohio State with 1 loss should get in over Penn State with 2.

I just don't see the committee putting Ohio Sate in if they don't go to and win the B1G CCG. The place a high value on winning that CCG.

Like I said in other thread, frick conference championships… If Ohio State wins out there's no way you can keep them out
Posted on 11/13/16 at 2:38 am to DVontel
tBucs need to handily beat both of those Meechegan teams the next two weeks, and for the B1G game, they need to beat the breaks of Wisconsin by like 60ishe like earlier in the season.... then they make it....
If PedeSU beats DeAntoni in East Lansing, Ohio State won't be in the playoffs

But the committee specifically has said of a team is clearly better they will get in.
I've slept on this a bit. Here is my feeling. If PSU or Wisconsin win the BIG they still have less good wins than OSU.
OSU would have wins over Wisky Michigan and OU who all may finish top 10. No one else will have anything close to that in the whole country

You don't have a clue about this situation.
Ohio State at 11-1 will have the best resume in the country. They'll get in. Penn State lost to Michigan by 39 points. Teams with 39 point losses don't deserve to be in the playoff conversation.

Well if that's the criteria, teams that lost to teams with 39 point losses should definitley be out.

Why don't we wait to see how it plays out? If tOSU wins out in dominant fashion? Yes, they should probably remain obove PSU.

It should be one of the criteria. A tough loss one the road to a ranked team should weigh more heavily in the losing teams favor than a blowout loss on the road to a ranked team. IMO.

Absolutely and I respect that
PSU would have wins over OSU and Wisky and 2 losses
Wisky would have wins over LSU PSU and Nebraska and 2 losses
OSU would have OU, Wisky, Michigan and Nebraska and 1 loss
In a blind resume conference title or not those 3 teams arent close resume wise

quote:A very impressive resume' to say the least. Let's assume that PSU and OSU both win out. PSU is the conference champion. I don't think you can just put tOSU ahead of them when PSU won the conference and the head to head. The committee will likely look at all the conference champs and lock the best ones in first. So lets assume that Bama, Clemson and Washington and OU win out. That gives them 3 teams with a conference championship with the extra data point as well. The 4th spot is going then be between OU, PSU and OSU. In that scenario OU is eliminated due to losing to tOSU. Then it comes down to PSU and tOSU. PSU has the head to head and the extra data point so...........

It all comes down to this Tuesday. If Ohio State is put in the #2 slot and they win their last two games in convincing fashion I don't see any way to justify dropping them out of the top 4 in the final ranking. Hell, I don't see a way to drop them down from 2.

But they also have a 2nd loss right? Neither of us know how this ends of course but IMO the committee has had an easy job when it's been 1 or 0 loss conference champs.
OSU will be #2 on Tuesday. The Committee will have to convince itself that a 1 loss Washington from a conference they don't think is very good should get in b/c of a conference title, or a team that lost twice should get in because a conference title.
I think the conference championship has served as tiebreaker in other years, but is OSU tied with PSU/Wisky/Washington/L'ville going into Championship weekend if it all plays out?

Ohio State needs to mainly root for Wisconsin and Oklahoma to win out. If they do that, they will have 2 victories over top 10 conference champions on the road. Add in another top 10 win against Michigan, and a top 10 loss from Penn State, I just don't see that resume getting left out.
They should be rewarded for having a strong OOC schedule. Unlike Washington's, who has a shite OOC.

Wisconsin winning the B1GCCG makes it much easier for the committee to put Ohio State in. Cross division B1GCCG winner that they've beaten already on the road.
