In medical sales you can make 100-150 in the right job. I can't imagine a geologist making half of that. Maybe you can work part time as a sales rep to fund a geology hobby.

Thats not really what you asked though. Four years are going to pass, you can either be a geologist or not at the end of it.

My ex was a geologist grad and couldn't find a damn thing anywhere around here. She's been out of school for 10 yrs now and she finally has a lead but the pay is shite. I suggest trying a different field.

5 years ago when oil was booming, they were paying starting Geologist 100k. Oil will come back.

well you would be incredibly wrong

I know a few private consulting geologist that make bank

You're very uninformed on what geologists make.
