He might be right, but the mistake they make is that they act like the popular vote would go the same way if the EC was blown up. You can't champion the popular vote when the candidates and parties have focused their efforts winning a state like New Hampshire.
Arguing that Clinton would have won if you based it on the popular vote is disingenuous because the campaigns would be run much differently in that case.

Yeah because just using the popular vote and allowing large cities and large states to decide it all is totally fair.
Bottom line is, anything that doesn't get their candidate elected is unfair.
