Baseball Prospectus just released their Braves top 10
Same top 10 as me but different order. Surprised most by Soroka and Fried's placements. Maitan gets a 60 grade as the #8 prospect in the system.
I think Maitan is probably my most untouchable guy.
Also interesting that some people within the industry are starting to value Acuna over Albies. As I said, I think he is a big, big piece and would not be surprised if Rays preferred him over Albies either.
quote:
Rank. Player (Potential Grade/Likely Grade)
1. Dansby Swanson, SS (70/60)
2. Ronald Acuna, CF (70/55)
3. Ozzie Albies, 2B (60/55)
4. Sean Newcomb, LHP (60/55)
5. Mike Soroka, RHP (60/55)
6. Kolby Allard, LHP (60/50)
7. Ian Anderson, RHP (60/50)
8. Kevin Maitan, INF (--/60)*
9. Touki Toussaint, RHP (60/50)
10. Max Fried, LHP (55/45)
*Deemed too far away for a potential grade, but was unanimous top player signed by any team in amateur free agency. Never played a professional season.

Not really hard to see why with Albies being a super high floor guy and Acuna potentially being a true 5 tool RF if the power continues to develop. I'm pretty stoked to see how he does next year in high A (and hopefully AA later).
We'd be extremely dumb to trade Acuna (or any of our top 4 hitting prospects).
