The "ground game" question

Do any of you feel like a strong "ground game" can be the difference in the election?
I haven't received a call and most people don't want to be stuck on a call or hounded on outside of a shopping mall.
The Clinton machine continues to talk this "ground game" stuff from all the media outlets and I don't think it makes a difference.
Social Media seems to have taken over.
Do you agree with this?

No. Direct voter contact has proven to be the most influential method of GOTV. Social media, ads, etc. all just tend to blend together into noise people are sick of.
Data driven phone banking and door knocking is the most effective. And at this point, the goal is not to persuade, it's just mobilize.

Seems like Clinton and the Democrats have invested a lot of money for the race to be so close.
This election will definitely be in the history books.

We are a polarized nation. That's why every vote counts. There are reports that the Clinton campaign have made 45 million direct voter contacts since early voting started.

Ground game for old time Democrats means fraud in all its forms. Years ago it was a carton of cigarettes. Kind of expensive now. Today it is various forms of multiple voting but the real ground game is what happens after 8 when the polls close and the dead and people who did not show up vote. William Jefferson in an interview right after he lost his Congress seat in New Orleans blamed a lack of street money to get his voters out..
