Hmmm. The astronomy text book I had in college called it geosynchronous, although now I see that's wrong, at least in common usage. If you break down the meanings of the roots it still makes sense. I can't find another single word to describe it.

It's called "synchronous rotation". If it didn't rotate at all there would be a dark side of the moon, but as it is, there is a far side of the moon, with respect to Earth.

Found it. It is called "synchronous rotation." It is not a description of the orbit, but instead a description of the speed of rotation of the moon in relation to its orbit.

Earth's moon is "tidally locked" with the Earth.
