Why does 2 personal fouls on Bama and 1 on LSU cancel out? Why not 1 cancels 1 and 2nd get enforced? Please educate me.

Tired of these BS excuses until LSU has a QB that can put the team on his shoulders all this crying about penalties is pointless.

3 on them. I have asked this question on score board. No answers. When you find out, let me know.
3>1. we should have had a net 2 penalties against them.

And what did we do to deserve the one.

The personal foul call on LSU was manufactured just to cancel out Bama's penalty.

Any number of penalties on one team cancels out any number of penalties on the other team.

I'm not saying it makes sense, but that's the rule. The entire team could get personal foul penalties, and if one opposing player for a holding call it would offset everything.

Does the fact that BAMA had two live ball personal fouls and the the other two that offset were dead ball fouls make any difference?

Wipe out LSU's penalty and that gives us a first down around the 25 yard line in a scoreless game. We ended up punting.

There is certainly a discussion to be had about whether dead ball personal fouls SHOULD be handled that way but....

...it is the proper way to handle it.

Keep in mind that several years ago at home we were standing on the one yard line getting ready to push in for a score when we get flagged ...AND ONLY WE GET FLAGGED...for a ridiculous personal foul that should have been one on them too and offsetting...and it likely cost us the game.

I am sure i only notice because i am based for LSU...but it sure feels like we get screwed on both sides of this when we play them.

Penalties on both teams offset regardless of how many one team has. If theres 5 flags on one team and one flag on the other, the penalties offset.

Only exception is if one foul occurred during the play (holding, interference, offside) and the other team's foul is a dead ball foul after play was over (late hit, unsportsmanlike conduct)....then both fouls are enforced (unless there was fouls during the play on both teams, then the live ball flags would offset but the dead ball foul is enforced)

So, we should just go ahead and committed as many personal fouls on one play as we can since no matter how many you commit they all cancel each other out. Make sense!

Yup....though that would likely get you tossed from the game.
