Pretty much. But most companies will not want to pay OT though, so you will be required to stay at 40. The OT budgets I would assume for most will be very very tight.
It can be good in some cases and bad in others. You lose flexibility and some benefits that go along with being exempt vs nonexempt.

seems like my company is planning on putting the hourly rate at a number that would require 48 hour weeks (with 8 hours at OT rate) to hit the old salary number.
doesnt effect a ton of folks but im expecting to see some unhappy people when those meetings go down.
