As stated above the board is a very good source.

A lot of us watch the games on tv / streaming sources and we keep up with who may have been injured in a game and then you know to check back a day or two later to see how the injury is coming along.

You can check the sports sites, but sometimes just searching a particular player will lead to more in depth information, like a local sports news source in the area.
