They are improving but I can't think of anything they've done that's better than the best that NetFlix has put out.
The Man in the High Castle and Catastrophe are the only Amazon originals I've watched that I would say belong in the same tier as the better NetFlix originals. Mozart in the Jungle, Red Oaks and Transparent weren't able to get me to watch more than the pilot. I am looking forward to Sneaky Pete and The Tick.
The list of successful NetFlix Originals is pretty long:
House of Cards
Orange is the New Black
Peaky Blinders
Stranger Things
Narcos
Dare Devil
Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Iron Fist
Defenders
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Master of None
Marco Polo
Grace and Frankie
That's just off the top of my head in no particular order, and it doesn't mention a ton of kids programming like Puss in Boots and rebooting Voltron.
Amazon is working on it, but they have a long way to go to catch up, let alone take the lead.

Peaky Blinders
Not a Netflix original.
Still an impressive list.

What that guy said. Amazon is doing a good job, but this isn't even close at the moment.
