How about hiring assistants, for one? How sure are you that Dave Aranda would've come to coach under Ogeron?

My God, are you trying to hold this against Coach O. Yeah, don't hire him because Aranda was already on staff. How about Cam Cameron and Pete Jenkins.

You have no idea what sort of staff O could put together.

Neither do you. Nor do you know what kind of staff any other coach would put together at LSU.

He only knows a limited number of coaches, how many of them would want to work for him?

He has been in the business a long time at different schools. I bet he knows quite a few coaches. How would I or you know who would work for him besides Pete Jenkins. That is a pretty stupid question to ask when nobody knows the answer. His one hire has been pretty good though - definitely set a precedent.

but was universally hated by his staff by the time he was fired

that is total bullshite. You apparently were under a rock last week when Hugh Freeze said Coach O was the best thing to happen to his coaching career and he appreciated it. He had nothing but good things to say about him. Post your facts to back up your statements of frick off. If coaches hated him Pete Jenkins would not be at LSU right now.

quote:

He has basically said it himself, all he is doing right now is letting Miles' assistants do their job and playing cheerleader.

In the past it has always been said that all a coach has to do is hire good assistants and let them coach. Now that O is mentioned as a candidate, you want a coach who wants to run everything and tie his assistants hands behind their backs?

That's not how Meyer works

Just another reason in the huge and growing stack of why Herman should not be considered for the LSU position.

OK.

quote:

Orgeron made nearly every mistake a first-time head coach can make, and just about everyone—from the staff to the players to the support personnel—breathed a sigh of relief when he was fired.

ESPN

quote:

In 2005, Orgeron’s players absolutely hated him, and for good reason.

quote:

Orgeron demanded that everyone -- everyone -- had to run at full sprint between practice stations...Offensive line coach George DeLeone, then a 56-year-old man and a 30-year veteran, would shuffle into post-practice interviews with ice packs around both knees.

SB Nation

And I won't get into the alcohol isssues, the fights, the restraining order... We're sure he's put all that behind him, aren't we? I'm sure Saban, Meyer, Stoops, Carroll, and Harbaugh all have very similar backstories, right?
