You do realize how many airports are "land-locked" with 2 runways that have way more flights than MSY? Just to name a few: LHR, LGA, DCA, SEA, DXB, HKG all have 2 runways and handle 10X the flights MSY has.

San Diego International has 1 runway and it's smaller than the big one at KMSY and they have twice the amount of traffic and passengers going through.
