I posted about this in the BA LHR flight thread and got down voted. But the new terminal was designed to be too small from the get go. (Currently have 42 gates, new terminal will start with 30 + these 6) and the terminal will go from 6 customs accessible gates to 2. They pulling a fast one on taxpayers.
The new facility is not being built with taxpayer dollars.

$700 million dollars in bonds and $21 million dollars in federal money = being paid for by tax payers.

we don't need it
all we can be sure of is Mitch will have a nice contract or nice job after he leaves office.
