I don't disagree with you and he learned a valuable lesson. In the end it was an honest mistake that he self reported. They shouldn't have thrown the book at him. He had no previous criminal history and now has a felony on his record. Given the situation it seems awfully harsh to me.

Does seem harsh, but, if he shot not knowing full well what he waa shooting at, I see why they would have thrown the book at him.

Not saying I agree with them throwing the book at him, but I can see why he got it thrown at him.

This. That's a miscarriage of justice IMO.
