This made me think of a tangent that might play out in the future...

UT may not be able to risk offering him (publicly) and getting turned down. That might just be head-trash, or real, but if that's the perception then they will do everything they can to seal the deal early and behind the scenes. Which I'm sure Armstrong will advise against. Presumably it the main driver would be "biggest in TX" syndrome. To be publicly turned down by the coach of Houston would be a very big ego stomp for them.

Will LSU have the same mindset? I doubt it seriously. Probably just the opposite. If LSU were to be turned down by Herman, or any hot/big-name coach, they probably want everyone they pursued to the limit.
