Fire one of the most successful coaches in the past ten years, only to promote the career D-line coach?
Uhm…Miles’ successful Won/Loss record wasn’t because he was a good coach, but instead was because he was at LSU. Furthermore, Miles lost a lot of close games that shouldn’t have even been close and that we shouldn’t have loss to begin with.

Beating Bama this year wouldn't prove anything because this isn't his team. It's Miles's team that Ed didn't screw up.
If this isn’t O’s team today, then we would have probably barely won the last two games or we would have lost the last two games. In addition, Miles’ old antiquated system would still be in place and Cam would still be OC and never would have been fired.

Saban turned around Michigan State
No, Saban had not turned around Michigan State yet, although he was on his way. Anyway, Saban had discussions with a former LSU assistant coach somewhere along the line, who told Saban that LSU was a sleeping giant because it resided right smack in the middle of the richest recruiting grounds in the USA. Meanwhile, Saban checked out the LSU situation in his free time, and then when the LSU coaching job became open, he told his agent to let LSU know that he was interested in the job.

Les resurrected OK State.
Not really, he brought Oklahoma State up to a level of respectability, but he did it with his predecessor’s recruits. Just as he won a national championship here with Saban’s recruits.

I want our next coach to have a proven track record of that kind of success before he is handed the keys to an SEC program
Meanwhile, Coach O is a far better coach and recruiter than Miles ever was. Thus, if he wins out the job should automatically be his, and if he finishes 4 & 1 or even 3 & 2, if the two losses came in close games, then he should also be considered for the job. I wouldn’t offer Coach O as much money as I would offer Coach Jimbo Fisher, but I wouldn’t offer Coach Herman no more money than I would offer Coach O. The difference being that Jimbo is a proven coach who already has a national championship under his belt, and Herman isn’t even a proven coach yet.

You have absolutely nothing to base this on...either point.
I guaran-damn-tee you that if O is HC for 3 years or more, he will not average 10 wins at LSU. You just don't go from 3-21 to elite HC. It's incredibly unlikely.

And you know that how...? Because he beat a mid major and a terrible Missouri team?
